We received our license in November of 2018 and took in our first set of siblings in February of 2019. We still are blessed to have them with us and hope to adopt them by the end of the year.
❔ Why did you begin fostering?
I have known since I was a young girl that I wanted to adopt. When the time came for us to take the steps needed to make this possible, we were introduced to the idea of foster care. It took some time to make those final steps to become foster parents, but now that we are, we see that by doing so, we opened our hearts in a way that we didn’t know that we could and we are so happy that foster care came into our lives.
❔ What has God taught you during your foster care journey?
Don’t give up. Things may get hard at times, but keep your head up and know that you can do it.
❔ What hope do you hold onto during the difficult seasons?
This too shall pass. We look at this time as time to focus on our little family. What can we learn from this and what can help us see the positive in a world that dwells so heavily on the negative? I am a nurse and I see the truth of the matter. It is something to be cautious of, but by no means will I let this rain down on these two children that need to see the beauty in life. We will continue to love and share our wonderful lives with any child that enters our home and teach them what they need to grow.
