Statement of Understanding, please read and respond.

While our leadership is a community of believers following Jesus, all are welcome to be a part of the solution. We serve all people, without regard to race, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other factor. We also seek to work alongside people of all walks of life who share our vision to change the culture of foster care so every child experiences healing. Within the Respite Program, we do our best to make a good match between families and respite volunteers. We are hopeful that good relationships can still be formed even if everyone does not share the same values, but we acknowledge that there may be times when respite matches may not work for a variety of reasons. If you, as a parent or a volunteer, have concerns with the match at any point, please reach out to Restore staff.(Required)

Volunteer Code of Conduct, please read and respond.

I understand that as a volunteer, I am a representative of The Restore Network. While acting in my capacity as a volunteer of The Restore Network, the following rules shall apply: Volunteers must treat all people of all races, religions, and cultures with respect and consideration. Volunteers shall not use profanity while serving with The Restore Network. Volunteers will portray a positive role model for minors and the community by maintaining an attitude of respect, loyalty, patience, courtesy, and maturity. Smoking or using tobacco products in the presence of minors is prohibited. Using, possessing, or being under the influence of alcohol, illegal, or illicit drugs will not be tolerated.(Required)
Volunteers must not abuse minors, including: Any direct observations or evidence of sexual activity in the presence of or in association with a minor; Any display or demonstration of sexual activity, abuse, insinuation of abuse, or evidence of abusive conduct towards a minor; Sexual advances or sexual activity of any kind between any person and a minor; Sexual advances or sexual activity of any kind to a minor(s); Infliction or physically abusive behavior or bodily injury to a minor; Physical neglect of a minor, including failure to provide adequate supervision in relation to the activities of the The Restore Network; Mental or emotional injury to a minor; The presence or possession of obscene or pornographic materials at any function of The Restore Network.(Required)
Volunteers will be aware that foster and adoptive kids may have been abused physically, sexually or emotionally. Refrain from tickling or wrestling with children as these activities often accompany sexually abusive situations and may lead to fear and the perception of danger. Refrain from touching children without their permission. Of course infants and toddlers require hands-on care, but for verbal children always ask, for example, "May I give you a hug?" Also note that this population often struggles to interpret sarcasm and teasing. This can lead to hurt feelings and misunderstandings. Strive to keep your interactions with the children authentic, positive and affirming.(Required)
In the instance of suspected abuse or misconduct, volunteers must promptly report the incident to the Restore Network County Director. All volunteers of The Restore Network agree to fully comply with law enforcement or government agencies that may be investigating allegations. Volunteers providing childcare will ensure that children are supervised at all times.(Required)
