Restore was launched in the Mt. Vernon Area in 2025.

The Mt. Vernon Area was the first area where we initiated the conversation to bring Restore to the community instead of someone “on the ground” leading the charge. For several years we served families to the north and the south of this community and were regularly contacted by agency staff to help with placement needs from Jefferson, Hamilton and Wayne counties. So, in 2023, we set out to rally God’s people and bring culture change to the foster care system in the Mt. Vernon Area.

But that was our timing, not God’s. While we had some strong local advocates and interest from a few churches, we hadn’t reached our partnership goals to be able to launch before we had a couple of big transitions on our Executive Staff Team. We had to pause for a season and regroup.

When we re-engaged in early 2025, God was ready and we had two really strong Church Partnerships take the lead to make sure that we had the finances and volunteers to begin this work. Mt. Vernon Second Baptist and Central Christian Churches rallied their people and were joined by others in the community to launch Restore in June of 2025.
