What is now Greene/Jersey started as separate county ministries. The story of their individual launches and subsequent merger has been a beautiful, God story!

In the spring of 2019, a group of teachers and school personnel attended the Restore Network Banquet. They walked away committed to bringing Restore to their county! That summer, we began plans to launch in Jersey County.

All the pieces came together in the fall of 2020 (in the midst of the pandemic!), and we launched Jersey County Restore Network with three partner churches: 1AG Church, Delhi Baptist Church, and Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Later, in early 2021, a foster father reached out to Restore on behalf of Ordinary Men, a group of Christian men who wanted to get involved with bringing the Restore Network to Greene County to serve foster families. Informational meetings began in May 2021 as churches began to show interest, gathering to hear about the work we do.

It was clear God was at work in these meetings, and by October 2022, four churches were ready to launch as partners: Our Redeemer Lutheran, Eldred Baptist, Faith Baptist, and House of Restoration.

After serving in each of these counties for a season and considering how the communities are connected, we concluded that our resources would better serve the needs of both communities if we combined them into a county cohort. It has been awesome to see the churches, and people, in both counties join together to change the culture of foster care in their region.

Today, there are 12 churches committed to serving children in foster care in Greene/Jersey Counties.
